Karen is an Accredited Member of The Pilates Foundation which runs the most extensive and rigorous teacher training programmes in the UK.
Karen qualified as a Pilates Foundation matwork teacher in 2010 after completing the 500+ hour course.
Following this she went on to qualify to teach on the Universal Reformer through the Brigid McCarthy Pilates Studio's teacher training programme.
In order to further develop her teaching repertoire Karen completed the 500 hour Lolita's Legacy teacher training programme and is now a qualified comprehensively trained 3rd generation Pilates teacher, teaching on all the studio apparatus.
Lolita's Legacy is the teacher training programme of Lolita San Miguel, a 1st generation Pilates master teacher and one of the Pilates 'Elders'. Lolita was one of only two people to be issued with a certificate by Joseph Pilates himself on completion of her apprenticeship with him in his New York studio.
Always looking for more knowledge, Karen is now undertaking the 800 hour Pilates Foundation bridging course (apparatus training) at the Vanessa Smith Pilates studio in Glasgow, further refining her skills to help clients realise real lasting change.
Karen also holds a specialist certification in pre-natal and post-natal Pilates and is a member of the Guild of Pregnancy and Postnatal Exercise Instructors.
Additionally, Karen has also been privileged to personally experience the teaching of Pilates Master teachers Alan Herdman, Brett Howard, Jillian Hessel, Kathy Corey and Lolita San Miguel.
